6. Why are the mineral values and %RDA lower than others?

RDA values are based on total elemental quantity, not accounting for bioavailability or the fact that minerals need to dissociate for cellular uptake.

As an example: 1000mg of sodium chloride (what most popular brands give you) needs to split into a sodium ion and a chloride ion for uptake — and only approximately 39% of that is sodium.

So 1000mg of sodium chloride = only 390mg of bioavailable sodium — and this doesn’t even account for mineral interdependence or cofactors.
